"I don't begin by asking what kind of house you want. I begin by asking what kind of life you want to build."
Everything I design begins with that conversation.
For more than three decades, I've had the privilege of designing homes, planning communities, developing land, and helping people transform ideas into places that support the lives they want to live. Along the way I've worked throughout the United States, Central America, and Mexico, gaining an appreciation for how culture, climate, and landscape shape the way we experience home.
Those experiences have reinforced a simple belief: the best architecture doesn't begin with style. It begins with people. It begins with understanding what matters most to them, how they hope to live, and how the land itself can become part of that story.
Today, my work is focused on the extraordinary landscapes of the Veracruz Highlands.
The Veracruz Highlands offer something increasingly rare—cool mountain climates, fertile soils, abundant rainfall, remarkable biodiversity, and communities with a rich cultural heritage. It's a region where architecture can exist in harmony with nature and where thoughtful planning still has the opportunity to shape meaningful places for generations to come.
Whether designing a hillside retreat overlooking coffee plantations, a productive family homestead, or a small intentional community, every project begins by respecting the land rather than imposing upon it.
The mountains don't simply provide a backdrop.
They become part of the design.
I believe every property has its own character, and every client has a unique vision.
My role isn't to impose a signature style or convince you to build the home I would choose.
Instead, I listen.
I take the time to understand your goals, your lifestyle, your family, and your aspirations before a single line is drawn. Together, we explore how your home can respond naturally to the land while supporting the way you want to live—not only today, but decades from now.
Architecture should never feel separate from its surroundings.
A home should belong to its place.
A home is rarely just a building.
It's part of a larger living environment.
Many of my clients are interested in creating productive landscapes that include orchards, gardens, greenhouses, livestock, renewable energy, water management, and outdoor spaces that support everyday life. My experience extends beyond architecture into land planning, homestead design, and integrating these systems into cohesive, beautiful environments.
Whether your vision includes complete self-sufficiency or simply a stronger connection to the land, thoughtful planning ensures every element works together as one living system.
Good design should endure.
It should respond intelligently to climate, use resources wisely, age gracefully, and remain meaningful long after trends have passed.
I'm particularly interested in helping families create places that provide greater resilience, stewardship, and independence without sacrificing beauty or comfort. To me, sustainability isn't a checklist of technologies—it's the thoughtful integration of architecture, landscape, energy, water, and food production into places that are practical, adaptable, and deeply rewarding to live in.
These principles guide every project, regardless of size or budget.
BlissWorks is intentionally a small, independent design studio.
I work directly with every client from the earliest conversations through the design process because I believe meaningful architecture grows from relationships built on trust, collaboration, and careful listening.
Every project receives my personal attention.
Every design begins with curiosity.
Every place deserves a thoughtful response.
Because in the end, I'm not simply designing buildings. I'm helping people create places where life can unfold beautifully.
If you're considering building a custom home, planning a productive homestead, or exploring the possibilities of a family estate or resilient community in the Veracruz Highlands, I'd welcome the opportunity to learn about your vision.
Every great project begins with a conversation.
